Caring for Children
The Nursery provides a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate space for children while parents address their crisis. Children may stay at the Nursery for up to 72 hours (or three nights) at a time, and for a total of 30 days in a calendar year. While at the Nursery, children learn to ask for help, identify their emotions, and increase their coping skills.
Most children staying at the Nursery have experienced chronic stress and trauma, so staff members work with four children or less at a time, ensuring children receive personalized care and attention to manage stress, meet developmental needs, and work towards social and emotional development goals.
